It's wonderful to share the return of adventurous Tulip, kind-hearted Max and their trusty pet rock Susan - and to introduce a couple of special new friends too!
In Tulip and Sprout: A Growing Friendship, we find Tulip, Max and Susan enjoying many new adventures together. But when the school holidays roll around, Max and Susan depart on a thrilling overseas trip, and Tulip's dad is busy working from home. Tulip's days become dull. Boring. Completely unadventurous. Until she makes a spud-tacular discovery that transforms everything ... Carla Martell and I have had such fun revisiting these characters - and we hope you enjoy reconnecting with them, too! Where to find Tulip and Sprout The book is making its way into all good bookstores this month. Find it online at the stockists listed below - or try your favourite independent bookstore's website. It's the story of an unlikely and ill-fated friendship between an adventurous girl and her ever-present sidekick - a potato called Doug. I'm absolutely in love with Carla Martell's superb illustrations which do such a beautiful job of bringing the story to life. Tulip and Doug is available in bookstores across New Zealand and Australia, and through all the usual online channels. I hope children and their families will enjoy this book as much as we enjoyed creating it! It's such a treat to be a member of the 2020 Debut Crew, a group of debut picture book authors and illustrators from all over the world. We're working together to help promote our books as they launch into bookstores and homes throughout the year.
